Terror suspect to face court in May
A Polish terror suspect caught with bomb making chemicals will appear at the Old Bailey next month.
Filip Bednarczyk, 25, was arrested at his home in Park Street, Luton, Beds, on the eve of the general election last December
When anti-terror police raided his house, they seized documents and devices, as well as a powder, which prosecutors claim could be used to aid terrorist causes.
Daniel Pawson-Pounds, prosecuting, told the court today (fri) Bednarczyk has not been visited by his legal team due to difficulties getting into HMP Bullingdon.
He added: ‘The police and the prosecution will have to proceed on the basis that the trial will be active on 15 June, so my own plea is to have the mention as soon as possible to prevent work being done which is unnecessary.’
Bednarczyk was not present at the hearing today and the case was adjourned until the 7 May.
He is accused of collecting information likely to be to useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism and making or possessing an explosive device.
