Trucker admits killing NHS consultant

A lorry driver has admitted killing an NHS paediatrician as she cycled to work. Dr Marta Krawiec, 41, a noted food allergy consultant, was riding to St Thomas’s Hospital on 4 August 2021 when she was struck by a Mercedes HGV driven by Kevin Allen, 68. She died following the collision at the junction of Southampton Row and Theobalds Road near Holborn.
