Woman accused of baby killing

A mother accused of slitting her baby son’s throat was remanded in custody. Mariam Benzain, 31, allegedly murdered five-month-old Elias Biad at the family home in Preston Road, Harrow, northwest London, on 22 July. Police and paramedics were called to the scene shortly before 10am following a call detailing injuries to five-month-old Elias who was pronounced dead at the scene.
