Woman slit her baby’s throat

A mother has admitted slitting her baby son’s throat. Mariam Benzain, 32, slashed five-month-old Elias Biad across his neck at the family home in Preston Road, Harrow, northwest London, on 22 July last year. Police and paramedics were called to the scene shortly before 10am following a call detailing injuries to Elias who was pronounced dead at the scene.
