Worker crushed to death at the recycling plant

An engineer was crushed to death at a recycling site after a waste management company created an ‘environment of risk’, a court heard. Russell Hartley, 48, was killed while helping to move a piece of machinery at Lea Riverside recycling site near Bow in east London on 24 February 2020.
