Wrongly convicted postmaster sent his mother to India in shame

A postmaster wrongfully convicted of false accounting sent his mother to India so she would not see him go to prison for six months, a court heard today. (Fri) Parmod Kalia, a former Orpington postmaster, hid his theft conviction from his family for twenty years, only telling his sister about the nightmare yesterday. His elderly mother died in 2019 and never learnt of his ordeal. Both Mr Kalia and Oyeteju Adedayo, a former Kent community postmaster, had their convictions quashed…
