‘You’re not convincing anyone,’ barrister tells oil protester
Two Just Stop Oil protestors who glued themselves to a Van Gogh painting were just putting on an unconvincing ‘performance’ a court heard. Emily Brocklebank, 23 and Louis McKechnie, 22, attached themselves to the frame of ‘Peach Trees in Blossom’ at the Courtald Gallery at Somerset House on 30 June this year. Both Brocklebank and McKechnie are charged with criminal damage to property valued at £2,000. But they believe they may have actually added to the value of the painting….
