Chef strangled and stamped his family to death

A curry house chef  stamped one daughter to death then strangled another daughter and his wife, a court heard today. Mohammed Abdul Shakur, 45, allegedly killed Juli Begum, 26, along with Anika, five, and Thanha, six, at their home in Whitechapel, east London, in January 2007. Ms Begum’s sister called police after discovering the bodies in the bedroom. Thanha had died from being stamped on the left side of the head twice, while Anika had been strangled by ligature.
