Close friend of French President cleared of assaulting ex-wife

  A close friend and advisor to French President Emmanuel Macron was cleared of assaulting his ex-wife and a young child. Mathieu Laine, 42, was accused of grabbing ex wife Eleonore Salin after she arrived in an Uber cab outside his house overlooking Kensington Palace on Boxing Day last year.
