Jail for Poppy Day thief

A thief who stole Poppy Day donation tins from shops and pubs has been jailed for ten weeks. Turk Jorge Buyukyoaidis, 54, grabbed eight collection tins in the City of London in 10 weeks. Buyukyoaidis was arrested when two plain-clothes officers from the City of London Police on patrol on Cheapside recognised him from CCTV images He was apprehended while attempting to cash in £36 of loose coins.
