Quad bike rider hit pensioner

A quad bike rider who left a pensioner fighting for his life after hitting him outside a supermarket has admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Martin Tofte, 26, mowed down Joseph Ryan, 67, as he crossed the road near Sainsbury’s on London Road, Hackbridge, Surrey, on September 15 last year.
