A rape victim was bound and gagged by an attacker who had sex with her as his naked girlfriend stood and laughed, a court heard.

Phillip Kennedy and Susan Williams also made the 26-year-old victim perform a sexual act on her female tormentor in one of three ordeals they inflicted upon her, it was alleged.

Crop-haired Williams, 27, had met the victim when they were staying together in North London.

Williams invited the woman to meet her friend Kennedy, 40, but put handcuffs on her when all three went for a ride in his car, said Brian Barker, QC.

She was driven back to Kennedy’s flat in Boleyn Road, New Barnet, Herts, where she was bound with string and gagged with a scarf at the start of a terrifying ordeal, the Old Bailey heard.

‘This girl was forced to submit to the advances of Mr Kennedy through fear and intimidation,’ said Mr Barker.

During the first ordeal Kennedy kept the woman a prisoner at the flat and raped three times, it was claimed.

Two days later, the woman was molested by the perverted pair after she was invited on a countryside drive, the court heard.

The victim did not want to go, but was bundled into Kennedy’s car by the couple and driven to his flat, said counsel.

‘Scared and shaking, she was asked to take her trousers off.

She didn’t want to, but she felt she had no choice,’ said Mr Barker.

After raping her twice Kennedy drove her home and gave her a five pound note, the jury was told.

A week later Williams asked the victim to come with her for a kebab, but outside the restaurant slammed her against a parked car.

‘Susan Williams took the handcuffs from her jeans and handcuffed her to the back of Mr Kennedy’s car so that one hand couldn’t actually move,’ Mr Barker said.

Back at the flat, Williams egged on Kennedy to rape the woman, shouting: ‘Do it to her’ and ‘Do it cos she likes it,’ the court heard.

‘The victim was aware that Susan Williams, standing naked, was watching this and laughing at her all the while.

‘

It was then that Williams ordered the woman to perform a lesbian act upon her, the court heard.

After her ordeal was over, Williams and Kennedy had sex together before taking the victim home.

But when the victim spoke to the police, Williams threatened to stab her in the neck, the jury was told.

Kennedy later told detectives the victim made all the running she wanted sex and enjoyed it.

Williams claimed Kennedy did the tying up but the victim was lusting after him.

Williams, of Marble Lane, Hendon Way, Hendon, and Kennedy, face 15 charges, including rape, false imprisonment, and intimidation of a potential witness.

Kennedy denies five charges of rape, two of indecent assault and three of false imprisonment.

Williams denies two charges of procuring a woman for sexual intercourse, three of false imprisonment, one of indecent assault and two of intimidating prosecution witnesses – one of whom was the victim.

The charges date between June 1, 1999 and September 12, 1999.
