A schoolgirl sobbed as she described to the Old Bailey her terror at being held prisoner by a pervert who begged her to spank him.

The teenager recalled her disgust and fear as 50-year-old Leslie Barker climbed into her bed and began to touch her intimately.

Barker sat stony-faced as the pretty 14-year-old described her night of terror at the hands of a man she had grown to trust.

An argument with her mother prompted the girl to travel to Barker’s home in Westcliffe-on-Sea on October 10 last year.

After an evening drinking lager the teenager went to bed at midnight.

Two hours later she was woken when Barker came into the room and switched the light on.

Giving evidence the girl told how she pretended to be asleep hoping he would go away.

She said: ‘I could hear him moving around the room.

At first I thought he was looking for something.

‘I then felt the quilt being lifted up and he was just stood there staring at me.

‘He then climbed into the bed and told me to move over.

‘

The teenager, now 15, described how she moved to the far side of the double bed but Barker started to touch her.

She said: ‘He touched my stomach and back then put his hands inside my knickers.

‘

The girl told the court how she had run to the bathroom and locked herself in.

‘I pulled on a pair of jogging bottoms.

I was so scared.

I thought he was going to come into the bathroom to get me.

‘

The teenager waited until she thought Barker had gone to sleep and tried to escape through the front door.

‘He had shown me where the spare key was kept, but when I looked it had gone.

‘

Barker then appeared in the room and asked her what she was doing, the jury heard.

She told him she wanted to leave and go home.

Barker then said she could not go, stating she had to stay or ‘what would people think.

‘

She described him as acting as if nothing had happened.

As she moved from the door she said Barker pushed her into the bedroom.

She fell between the bed and the wall.

She said: ‘I was so scared.

I was screaming at him to stop and leave me alone.

‘I didn’t know what he was going to do to me, so I pushed him as hard as I could and he fell onto the bed.

‘

‘As he lay there he told me he had been a naughty boy and asked me to spank him.

‘

Petrified the teenager ran into the living room and sat in darkness.

She described herself as being too scared to sleep.

She waited for Barker to come into the room but eventually she realised he had fallen asleep and managed to open the window to make her escape.

The girl jumped 10ft and landed on a flat roof but fell awkwardly damaging her ankle.

She said: ‘I managed to lower myself down onto the ground and then ran as best I could to Westcliffe station.

‘

The teenager then caught a train to West Ham in East London just after 4am.

On arrival she telephoned her cousin and told her she was hurt.

The female relative told her to get in a taxi and come to her home.

The following day she told her mother and grandmother what had happened.

She was taken to Catford Police Station where she gave a statement.

Barker, of Whitefriars Crescent, Westcliffe-on-Sea, Essex, denies indecent assault and false imprisonment.

Trial continues.
