In a prepared statement from Devon’s uncle Brian B

In a prepared statement from Devon’s uncle Brian Brown and mother Susan Allen said: ‘Devon was always a kind and considerate boy, helpful loving and absolutely no trouble to anyone as his mother had always taught him.

‘He had never been in any kind of trouble with the police or the schools that he attended.

He was currently taking a computer course that he enjoyed greatly and was making good progress.

‘He talked of setting up his own company one day with his brother.

He was also working part time to help with paying for his studies at a design company as kitchen porter and was very enthusiastic about his work and the company’s work as he was learning all the time.

‘He was a popular boy with all other ages due to his good character and temperament.

He would take time to play with very young children, kicking a football or mending their bikes and would make time to spend with his older friends playing computer games or listening to music.

‘People from all walks of life that we had not met before came to pay their respects on learning of his death.

‘So many people loved him, so many people dearly miss him.

His young life has been taken from him, just as he was becoming a man.

‘We would like to take this opportunity to thank the police for all their evident hard work and dedication to our case.

They have a great help to us all in our time of need.
