Benatou insisted the woman had consented and claimed in a courtroom rant: ‘I’m the victim.

But Judge Christopher Hordern, QC, told him:
‘The fact is this jury plainly made the correct decision in your case.

‘

Benatou chatted up the woman at Mile End tube station and she agreed to meet him again after he offered her a job at his imaginary restaurant.

But back at his Ilford bedsit the Frenchman confessed he fancied the Estonian and grabbed her when she tried to leave.

The girl recalled: ‘He started to undress me.

I told him I didn’t wish to have sex with him.

The woman said Benatou produced a video camera and filmed her topless, then made her stand facing the wall.

‘He was behind me, and touching my breasts.

He was trying to have sex through my clothes,’ she said.

‘He told me to take my knickers off and my bra off.

Then I was on the floor naked.

I think he still had his underpants on.

‘He made me do oral sex on him.

He put his hand on my head and moved it to his penis.

The woman wept as she added: ‘He told me I had to put my tongue around his penis.

Benatou filmed her again when they were on the bed, she said.

The woman said when she asked to leave Benatou told her they were going to eat first and locked her in the room while he fetched sandwiches.

She told how Benatou walked her back to Goodmayes station in Essex after the ordeal.

Police tracked him down by his mobile number but
Benatou denied luring the girl to his bedsit with the offer of a job and claimed she consented.

Benatou, of Green Lane, Ilford, was convicted of two charges of rape on April 25 this year.

He told the court: ‘She was lying your honour, all the way through.

I’m just a normal working class person.

I didn’t have any relation to these matters.

I was just the victim.

Judge Hordern told him: ‘Thank you Mr Benatou.

As I warned you what you have said to me does not assist you.

‘

Benatou tried to interrupt, plainly annoying the judge.

‘I don’t require you to say anything further, Mr Benatou.

In this case you lured the girl to your home.

‘You subjected her to the worst type of indecent assault and you raped her on two separate occasions.

‘You have made it entirely plain, among other things by what you just said to me you have no remorse at all about what you did.

‘

Benatou will have to sign the sex offenders register for the rest of his life.

The judge made no observations on whether
Benatou should be deported.
