Accused killer Rena Salmon sobbed as she told police officers moments after shooting her love rival, ”Oh my God, I didn’t mean to kill her,” jurors heard.

Salmon, who handed herself in to armed police officers at the scene, added ”I just wanted to hurt her like she’s hurt us”.

Prosecutor Sarah Plaschkes told the court the defendant later said, ”Oh God, I really did it didn’t I?”

In an apparent reference to her husband Paul, the jilted wife also said, ”He’ll never forgive me, he’ll never forgive me”.

The comments she made to officers moments after the shooting were read to the court at the close of the prosecution case.

Salmon, who denies murder, made no comment when quizzed by detectives.

Patrick Curran, defending QC, did not indicate whether his client would give evidence when the case resumes on Monday (MAY 12).

The trial continues.
