HOLLAND: SKINNYMAN JAILED FOR HARASSING EX-GIRLFRIEND

The underground rap artist ‘Skinnyman’ has been jailed for 16 months for a campaign of harassment against an ex girlfriend.

Alexander Graham Holland, 36, physically assaulted the 31 year-old victim at least twice and bombarded her with threatening calls and texts.

On 27 August 2010, the victim was driving her car when she realised she was being followed.

Holland attempted to drive her off the road, and when she stopped he attacked her car with a hammer.

Last week he was convicted by a jury of two counts of common assault, witness intimidation and breach of a non-molestation order.

He was also given a two-year restraining order not to contact victim or come into the Borough of Islington.

On 3 February 2011, whilst attending Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court for the trial of the June and July 2010 incidents, Holland abused and made threats towards the victim outside the court. He was further remanded and charged with witness intimidation and breach of the non molestation order.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Jose Lagares of Islington Police said:

“Alexander Holland refused to accept responsibility for his actions throughout his trial.

“The victim, who was already under great strain, then had to testify against him in court. His sentence takes into consideration the amount of time he spent on remand and should send a clear message that no one is above the law.

“Police in Islington are committed to tackling hate crime which encompasses harassment and domestic violence and we will always support victims through the entire process.”
