TEENAGER DENIES NIGHTBUS STABBING

A 17-year-old boy will stand trial later this year in connection with the near fatal stabbing of man on a nightbus.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Southwark Crown Court today (THUR) charged with attempted murder.

He is alleged to have knifed 23-year-old Tomasz Baranowski on the N98 double decker bus at around 1.30am on May 29 this year in Maida Vale.

Mr Baranowski suffered life threatening injuries as a result of the alleged attack.

The teenager, from Finsbury Park, in north London, today pleaded not guilty to attempted murder, wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.

He was remanded into custody following a brief video-link hearing this morning and is due to stand trial at the same court on October 10.
