Jail for wife strangler

An obsessed husband who throttled his estranged wife in a ‘horror movie’ attack has been jailed for a year. Sergey Alvin, 49, left the mother of his children Olga convinced she was going to die when he pinned her down on the bed at their family home in north London on 16 December last year.
