Alleged killer to stand trial for murder of ex’s dad

An alleged killer accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend’s father will stand trial in November. Daniel Benitez, 32, inflicted serious head and stab wounds to John Davies in Claremont Close, Streatham, southwest London, on 13 May 2016. Mr Davies, then 53, was taken to a south London hospital and placed into an induced coma. He died from his injuries aged 56 on 1 April 2019.
