Ambulanceman nipped around to patient’s home for sex
A paramedic turned up at a patient’s home for sex hours after taking her to hospital when she complained of side effects from the legal high M-Kat.
Matthew Holden invited himself over when the woman was feeling depressed, the Health Professions Council heard today (tues).
‘I was quite drunk, he was sober,’ she told the hearing.
‘He also knew I’d been on M-Kat, and he took advantage of me.’
Holden worked for Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust and had got her number after attending the non-emergency call.
She was taken to hospital by Holden where M-Kat, also known as Mephedrone, and alcohol were found in her system.
Jean-Jack Chalmers, for the HCPC, said: ‘She had telephoned the non-emergency NHS number reporting she was depressed with problems that had worsened that day.
‘Holden was in a rapid response vehicle on his own and attended the house at 1:20 am that morning.
‘She felt depressed, was considering self-harm, and had also consumed alcohol.
‘Holden took her in the rapid response vehicle to the hospital.
‘They got to the hospital at 2:18am, and before arriving she gave him her personal telephone number.
‘Messages were later exchanged.
‘She was later discharged, and then took a taxi to her home.
‘She then contacted the Holden who then attended her address after his shift, where they then engaged in sexual intercourse.’
The woman told hearing Holden had ‘taken advantage of her.’
Speaking via videolink, she said: ‘He had seen vodka and coke in my glass, he saw me drinking and knew I’d had a couple of pints.
She said she had not instigated the texting, and that Holden had invited himself over.
‘He put my number in his phone.
‘I hadn’t asked him for a lift when I was discharged, but he had text offering to do it.
‘He then came round that morning as soon as he had finished.’
Holden, who is present at the hearing in central London, admits all the charges
