An alleged kidnapper accused of snatching two schoolgirls to front his deadly drugs trade, today denied peddling heroin and crack cocaine.

Trevor Daniels, 22, is said to have driven the 15-year-old girls to Southampton after bundling them into his car in an east London street.

He and accomplice Anthony Hill, also 22, then used the girls as a cover while they made their drug deals around the city, it is claimed.

But Daniels insisted he did not even want the girls to get into his car.

He said as he soon as he realised they were only 15 he decided to drive them straight home.

But before they could head back, the pair were surrounded by police.

One of the girls had rung for help claiming they had been abducted by the men.

Daniels told Southwark Crown Court: ‘The police asked me to get out of the car and I said: ”For what guv?”

‘They said they had got a call from two females who said they had been kidnapped from London.

‘I said how could I take someone against their will if I was sitting outside waiting for to take them home?

‘They said I had a gun and a knife in the car and then the police man told me to open my mouth and searched me.

‘No-one forced the girls into the car.

I did not ask them to come with me and I did not force anyone.

‘I did not have any drugs to sell.

‘

The jury has heard that the pair held a screwdriver to one of the girls’ necks as they shoved them into the back of Daniels’ red Hyundi.

They wanted the girls for their ‘innocent’ faces to throw police off the scent as they made their deals, it is claimed

During the drive to the south coast, Daniels allegedly told them that they would not be taken home ‘unless we have our pleasure.

‘

On the way to Hampshire, one of the girls managed to scrawl an SOS on a wall at a car wash they stopped at.

They eventually alerted a shopkeeper in Southampton and the alarm was raised.

The teenagers took officers to a lampost where the dealers had hidden 33 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine.

Daniels told detectives he had asked Hill to go for a drive with him to Southampton to pick up some clothes for his sister.

On the way out of London, the pair stopped at a car wash in Hackney where they met the two girls.

He told detectives the schoolgirls approached them as they sat outside the car wash.

They rolled joints on the drive and claimed they were in his late teens.

Daniels said he panicked when he learnt their true age and insisted he drove them home.

When asked why he thought the girls had called the police, Daniels said: ‘I don’t know.

We weren’t doing anything wrong.

‘

Daniels, of Lichfield Road, Birmingham, and Hill, of Birkenhead, Liverpool, both deny two charges of kidnap on July 13, last year.

They further deny possessing heroin with intent to supply and a similar charge involving crack cocaine.

The trial continues.
