Cop denies careless driving death

A police officer has denied causing the death of an 83-year-old pedestrian by careless driving. PC Daniel Bowen, 28, was driving a marked Mercedes Sprinter police van when he allegedly struck Peter Dawes as he crossed the road in East Ham, east London, last 15 July.
