Cop denies training college attack
A Met Police officer has denied sexually assaulting a male colleague at a training academy.
PC Joseph Demir, 24, allegedly groped the man at Hendon Training School in northwest London on 10 March 2020.
The officer, attached to the North West Basic Command Unit, was a student officer at the time of the alleged assault.
PC Demir, of Welwyn Garden City, Herts appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court wearing a dark blue suit speaking to confirm his identity and deny one charge if sexual assault.
Adrita Ahmed, prosecuting, alleged that the officer touched the ‘groin area’ of his colleague.
He was granted bail on condition that he does not contact the complainant directly or indirectly ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing at Harrow Crown Court on 26 May.
PC Demir was charged following an investigation by the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards.
