Labour politician ‘is counciliar’

A Labour politician was lying about his address when he won a local council election, a court heard. Mohammed Iqbal, 50, is charged with six counts of ‘making false statements in candidate nomination papers’ during the 2018 local elections. It is said the councillor for Redbridge lied about his address on official forms to enable him to win the seat.
