Cruel nurse Barbara Saunders, 36, from Bolton, was later struck off indefinitely after being found guilty of 11 misconduct charges.

Ordering her name to be removed from the register immediately, committee chairwoman Kathleen Evans said:

‘We have heard and accepted evidence of uncaring and unkind behaviour towards vulnerable persons.

‘In this, Barbara Saunders has failed to safeguard and promote the interests of individual clients and to respect their dignity.

‘

Miss Saunders did not attend the hearing.
