Driver killed 90-year-old widow

A driver said: ‘It’s not my fault she crossed in front of the bus’ after he hit and killed a 90-year-old widow, a court heard. Thomas Smith, 24, was doing 38mph in a 20mph zone when he hit Ellen Brown, on King’s Street, Hammersmith Broadway, the Old Bailey heard. Mrs Brown died three days later on 25 July 2019 after suffering suffered head and chest injuries. Smith has jumped bail and did not appear at the Old Bailey for sentence….
