First casualty of the ‘Guernsey Way’ scandal

One of Guernsey’s most senior health bosses has become the first official to be struck off in the wake of a baby death scandal at a maternity ward. Jacqueline Gallienne was the director of Guernsey’s Health and Social Services Department (HSSD), which oversaw nursing standards at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital. The hospital’s Loveridge maternity ward was plagued by poor staffing levels and she failed to investigate serious incidents.
