Former police officer to stand trial for rape next February

A former Metropolitan Police officer accused of raping a woman 18 years ago will stand trial next February. Stephen Kyere, 56, is also charged with attempted rape and indecent assault following the incident in Teddington, Middlesex, in April 2004. Kyere, who retired from the Met Police in March 2021, was off-duty at the time. According to the Met, he was attached to the Hammersmith and Fulham police at the time of the allegations.
