Haulier accused in migrant deaths claims he was only smuggling booze

A haulier took part in a people smuggling network which resulted in the deaths of 39 Vietnamese migrants in the back of a truck, a court heard. The victims suffocated due to a lack of oxygen on the journey from Zeebrugge in Belgium to Purfleet, Essex.
