Homeless man in the dock for cop attack

A homeless man accused of attacking two police officers at a West End cinema denied two charges of assault. Kidane Meresea, 30, allegedly assaulted PC Jenny Penfold and PC Ollie Bailey at Odeon Leicester Square on 18 June. Wearing a grey tracksuit and helped by an interpreter, Meresea, of no fixed address, denied two counts of assault on an emergency worker. He was remanded in custody ahead of his trial on 21 February next year….
