Husband of children’s home worker on trial for historic sexual assaults

A supermarket worker complained she was sexually assaulted at a children’s home when a former staff member came to her checkout 40 years after the alleged attack, a court heard. Michael Coughtrey, 73, is now standing trial at the Old Bailey accused of abusing two young girls between 1974 and 1979 in the home in Hemel Hempstead, Herts, where his wife worked.
