‘I couldn’t avoid hitting pedestrian’

A driver who killed a pedestrian after he ran into the road claimed she only saw him for a ‘split second’, a court heard. Bethelihem Estifanos, 32, collided with Ahmed Pali, on Great Cambridge Road, Enfield, in her red Hyundai i10 on 10 June 2017. Mr Pali died of his injuries in hospital seven days later, Wood Green Crown Court heard.
