Jail for Co-op ram raiders
Three ram raiders who smashed down the front of Co-op to grab just £1,500 of goods have been jailed for nearly ten years in prison.
Clint Londors, 48, reversed his silver BMW X5 into the front of the Isle of Grain supermarket at 3am on 21 June 2021.
Accomplices Bradley Pearce, 39, and Jamie Turner, 39, jumped out and grabbed cigarettes, alcohol, razor blades and football cards.
They fled the scene in the BMW and Londors drove them towards Rochester, Kent.
Officers on patrol nearby were alerted to an alarm at the Co-op and saw the BMW speed past.
Londors repeatedly attempted to ram the police car in a bid to escape.
During the police chase, Londors drove the wrong way along a dual carriageway causing oncoming traffic to swerve to avoid a head-on collision.
When the officers lost sight of the BMW patrols continued to search the area with the help of a police helicopter.
Officers found a trail of stolen items which helped lead them to Turner, who was found half an hour later hiding in a woodland.
He still had cigarettes and razor blades hidden in his clothing.
The BMW, containing much of the stolen goods, was found deserted on a footpath near Four Elms Hill. It had been damaged from driving through a hedgerow.
Pearce was arrested when the police helicopter detected movement in a nearby treeline.
Londors, of High Street, Rochester, was arrested on 29 June and charged with burglary and dangerous driving.
Pearce and Turner, both of no fixed address, were also charged with burglary.
Pearce was charged with a second count for burglary of bridal accessories from a shop in Rochester High Street on 17 June
The trio pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court.
On 15 October, Londors was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison and disqualified from driving for three years and six months. He will be required to take an extended test.
Turner, who was on probation at the time of the incident, was jailed for three years and four months.
On Monday 1 November, Pearce was sentenced to two years and eight months imprisonment, including a concurrent sentence of three months for the burglary in Rochester.
