Jail for gun-dealing triplets
Identical triplets have been jailed for a total of 46 years today (FRI) for selling firearms including a sub-machine gun to a major crime gang.
Ricky, Reiss, and Ralston Gabriel, 28, worked with a gang which included dangerous criminal Aron Thomas to supply him with a deadly 9mm Uzi.
Ralston, who plays football for Boreham Wood and Ricky, who plays for Braintree, linked up with Thomas, who was given an eleven year jail sentence after he shot a man in the leg in Wood Green tube station in 2010.
The brothers were caught after their DNA was traced on pistol.
On 10 April 2017 police officers on Durban Road, Tottenham watched Hamza Ahmed, 21, getting out of a mini cab and exchanging rucksacks with another man before getting back in the taxi.
The vehicle drove away but was stopped by armed police shortly after.
Inside the bags were an Uzi sub-machine gun, with a silencer and ammunition, and a self-loading pistol with accompanying ammunition which bore the DNA traces.
Officers carried out further surveillance on 26 April 2017 in Stapleton Hall Road, Crouch End.
They saw Thomas, 32, go into an address and leave shortly after in a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Joshua Miller.
Armed officers pounced on Thomas in the car and he was found to be in possession of a bag which contained a loaded revolver and multiple rounds of ammunition.
Thomas was on licence at the time of the offence after firing a shotgun into a crowd of people outside Wood Green tube station in 2010.
Kerry Broome, prosecuting, said: ‘These defendants were convicted on 2 July for firearms offences.
‘A courier was stopped in possession of an Uzi sub machine gun with a silence and a loaded pistol.
‘The overall organisation was overseen by Aron Thomas a criminal of some significance. The police managed to stop the firearms actually being delivered.
‘It is quite clear from Thomas’ previous convictions and his later attempts to get another firearm there was an intent to use this firearm.
‘An Uzi submachine gun is clearly a very serious firearm. It has the ability to cause maximum indiscriminate harm.’
Judge John Hillen told the brothers: ‘All three of you were involved in an agreement to source and supply a gun to an extremely dangerous criminal.
‘One of the firearms was loaded and ready for use. The intent was to place this in the hand of a violent criminal.
‘I accept the Crown’s submission that this weapon would have been used against a person or persons to cause really serious harm, had it not been for the police intervention.’
The brothers laughed and joked in the dock at Blackfriars Crown Court while friends and family looked on from the public gallery.
Previously Elyace Hamchaoui, 23, of Bowes Road, New Southgate, north London was sentenced to 14 years for conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Detective Chief Inspector Driss Hayoukane from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said: ‘Aron Thomas is a dangerous individual who made a concerted effort to acquire firearms, intending to cause harm to others.
‘At the time of committing this offence, Thomas was on licence having been released from an 11-year sentence for recklessly firing a weapon into a crowd of innocent people.’
