Jail for perverted music teacher
A music teacher who shared videos of children being sexually abused with fellow perverts has been jailed for 27 months.
Paul Rajasegaram, 33, fantasised about abusing his pupils and admitted he was aroused as he watched them change for sports class.
Rajasegaram transferred the majority of the illegal sexual abuse videos and images using Skype under the username ‘London_boylover69’ with his real name given as ‘David Blackman’.
Southwark Crown Court heard the Brit School graduate discussed flashing boys in the school toilets to an online contact and said: ‘Yet I teach kids.’
Asked if he had any sexual experiences with children he could share he replied: ‘Wish I could’.
Rajasegaram went on: ‘I don’t plan on doing, but I have to admit I love watching boys at swimming pool LOL, real hot.’
Judge Gregory Perrins told Rajasegaram: ‘I have seen a summary of the images, they include rape of young children in which they are in obvious pain and distress.
‘What you were viewing and sharing was real images of horrific sexual abuse.
‘You discussed the images with a number of other individuals and also registered on a website used by people with an interest in children for the purpose of communicating with one another.
‘At that time you were a secondary school teacher, you regularly engaged in discussions about sexual abuse of children who were in your classes.’
Judge Perrins accepted the teacher had engaged with psychosexual therapy and child abuse charity Lucy Faithful Foundation but noted this was only after he was caught.
The judge told him: ‘You’re obviously someone who has a sexual interest in children.
‘The evidence shows that you enthusiastically involved yourself in the distribution of images to others, in those circumstances a suspended sentence order is not appropriate.’
Rajasegaram, of Stourcliffe Close, Marylebone, central London, admitted three counts of making indecent images of children and two counts of distributing indecent images.
He was sentenced to 27 months and made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order until further notice.
