Jailed for abusing four-year-old
A paedophile who sexually assaulted a four-year-old girl has been jailed for four years.
Isidoro Cobos, 55, groped the youngster after she came into his room during the night when he was staying with her mother in Leyton, east London.
The police were called and Cobos was linked to the girl by his DNA,
Snaresbrook Crown Court heard.
He was arrested and eventually found guilty of a single count of sexual assault against the underage girl following a trial earlier this month.
Tom Stevens, defending said Cobos ‘readily acknowledged that a term of significant imprisonment awaits him’ and had prepared himself accordingly.
He also pointed out his otherwise clean record and highlighted character references labelling him ‘a man capable of extreme kindness and supportiveness’ who was ‘much loved’ by friends.
Jailing him, Judge Neil Sanders said: ‘You seized the opportunity to sexually assault her.
He added: ‘She was particularly vulnerable because she was so young.
‘It is made worse by the fact that this was carried out in her own home where she was entitled to feel safe and secure.’
Cobos, of Edison Road, Holland-on-Sea, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, was jailed for four years.
