Killer was trapped by DNA on a cigarette butt

A teenage killer who was caught by DNA he left on cigarette butts thrown from a car window is facing years in jail. Michael Afonso-Peixoto, 27, was stabbed to death in Thornton Heath, southeast London, on 19 December 2023 after being ‘tricked’ into thinking he was meeting someone to sell cocaine.
