Lawyer’s pay demands hit murder trial

A Tanzanian immigrant accused of stabbing his wife to death on Good Friday appeared in court today without a barrister due to the strike over legal aid fees. Kema Salum, 38, killed Leyla Mtumwa, 36, at an address in Haringey, north London, on 30 March this year, it is alleged.
