‘Murder at church’ suspect remanded

An alleged killer accused of beating a woman to death as she lay in her sleeping bag at a church entrance was remanded in custody today (Mon). Kieran Rifat, 22, is said to have brutally assaulted Kelly Stewart in the grounds of the Memorial Community Church, in Barking Road, Plaistow, east London, on March 26.
