‘My kidney donor came to the UK to save me’

A doctor accused of involvement in an organ trafficking plot told a court today (mon) how his own donor came forward to help him when he suffered kidney failure. Dr Obinna Obeta, 51, denies illegally transporting a market trader from Nigeria to the UK to donate a kidney to Sonia Ekweremadu, daughter of Nigerian senator Ike Ekweremadu.
