Opera singer ‘conned wealthy widow to pay for classic cars’

A top opera singer cheated a wealthy widow out of more than £100,000 to spend on classic cars, a court heard. Andrew Amdur, 48, allegedly fleeced 67-year-old Elizabeth Shaheen after pretending he would organise a party in memory of her late husband. Amdur also transferred £80,000 from her bank account, claming it would go to the London Black Cabs Charity for underprivileged children, jurors heard.
