Pensioner ‘throttled wife to death in suicide pact’

A husband throttled his elderly wife to death in suicide pact, a court heard. Michael Virgo, 81, allegedly murdered 89-year-old Doreen at Grays Fair Court care home in Norwich. The pensioner was not required to appear for the brief administrative hearing at the Old Bailey via video-link from Norwich Crown Court, but counsel were present.
