Retired IT expert hoarded child abuse images

  A retired IT expert caught with thousands of images of child abuse on his computers has been spared jail. Gerald Carter, 69, kept 1,352 category A photos and films of children as young as six being abused. He also had 715 category B images and 1,248 category C pictures in his sick collection.
