Romanian jailed over forged driving licence
A jobless Romanian who used a forged driving licence to try and get his hands on a stranger’s bank statements was jailed for six months. Andrei Iftenie-Balan, 31, was recruited by fraudsters to head into the Piccadilly branch of HSBC equipped with the fake document featuring his photo but in the name of a customer. His task was to obtain the customer’s bank statements in order to find out how much was in his account. But the cashier became suspicious…
