Scrap metal dealer ‘was VAT crook’
A scrap precious metal dealer accused of carrying out a near decade-long £17.5m VAT fraud faces trial next October. Tony Bond, 60, is said to have supplied false information when submitting tax forms for five of his scrap metal companies to cheat the public revenue out of millions between January 2008 and March this year.
