Shot dead when he popped out to the shops

A Bangladeshi man shot a father dead as he left the house to buy food for his daughter, a court heard. Mohammed Ali, 27, is accused of gunning down Iron Miah, 40, outside his home in Nelson Street, Whitechapel, on 19 November. The victim had stepped outside to get dinner for himself and his daughter when two cars pulled up on the residential road, prosecutors claim.
