Suspected terrorist was ‘just sightseeing’

A suspected terrorist accused of scouting for potential targets including Rome’s Colosseum was simply sightseeing, a court heard. Surgul Ahmadzai, 34, is facing extradition after he was arrested on an Italian arrest warrant accusing him of ‘belonging to a prescribed terrorist group’. Ahmadzai was arrested by the Italian police in December 2015 at a shopping centre in Bari, southern Italy.
