Tank chasing lawyer Phillip Shiner faces trial for making false claims about British soldiers

A human rights lawyer accused of making false claims against Iraq war veterans will face trial in 2024. Phillip Shiner, 65, is charged with four allegations of fraud dating back to 2007 after the National Crime Agency launched a five-year investigation. Shiner, of St John’s Road, Birmingham, appeared at Southwark Crown Court via a video-link this morning (Fri) wearing a black suit, white shirt, and a red tie.
