Taxpayer will refund £4.5m stolen by Nigerian fraudster

The British government has agreed to return £4.2 million to Nigeria stolen by a former state governor who defrauded some of the world’s poorest people. James Ibori, 62, was locked up for 13 years for fraud, money laundering and forgery for the £117million scam back in 2012. His solicitor Bhadresh Gohil, 55, was jailed for 13 years in 2011 for helping to launder the funds.
